Art Hanging & Selection
Whether you own Rembrandts or IKEA prints, hanging your art in the right place makes a world of difference. If you have a collection of pieces, we will help you decide the best placement for your art and how it interacts with the rest of your décor. We can adjust what you have hung up already, or take it down and start from scratch.
You won’t believe how different your space will look by shifting your wall pieces.
If you need to begin your collection of wall décor, we can help you buy art at any level that you feel comfortable with. We have artists who’s work we love and e carry a comprehensive line of frame able posters.
Here are several good examples from different ends of the spectrum:
- In the first photo is a painting by Charles Arnaldi, an artist loved by these home owners. In hanging this strong contemporary piece in the most prominent placement in their home we established a color palette for the design of the first floor. (click to Culver City Condo) It is an investment which will increase in value
In the same home we contrasted the flat graphic and colorful composition with a neutral but textural piece. The leather “rug” hung from the wall balances the drama of the painting and the space while not taking focus away from the primary investment. This was also a great solution to buffer sound, absorbing from beside and below the piano.
- In this home, we had an asymmetrical wall on which we needed to create both balance and drama. We painted this Palm directly onto the wall to feature the handsome furniture piece and reach up into the cathedral ceiling, parallel to the real plant across the room.
- In this example we have taken the homeowner's favorite writers, at his request, and surrounded him with their images in his home office. There were six in all. This is a technique for making art that is unique to Jana Design and can take many different forms.
"Jana has a keen sense of the "personal touch". She doesn't do generic rooms that could belong to anyone. She infuses the space with your personality, taste and artifacts in a completely unique, individualized way. I had an idea to have some black and white, silhouetted photos taken of my husband and myself… a la Robert Longo. They came out great… Jana came up with a brainstorm and transformed the whole photo series into small, (8x10 inch) individually framed pieces and hung them as a suite in our bedroom. It's fabulous! My favorite "signature" wall in the house."
