Discovery Call:

During our initial conversation, we will get to know each other and talk about your vision and goals for your project. We want you to feel comfortable sharing your ideas, style, and inspirations with us. We’ll also explore any challenges you’re facing and the goals you’d like to achieve—whether it’s full redesign or a few thoughtful updates. By the end, you’ll have a clear sense of how we can work together and feel inspired to take the next steps in your design journey.
Plan Check
We offer a 2-hour Zoom consultation to those who are in the process of developing their plans with an architect or builder for a new house or major renovations of an older home.
During the call we will answer any questions you may have, and I will add my thoughts to what I see, to help you identify if the plan as drawn will meet your every need. During this process we will learn a lot about each other and how we can work together from the start to finish of the project.
Phase 1:
Design & Planning
This is where our journey begins. We’ll get to know your style, routines, and the details that make a house feel like home. Together we’ll review your inspiration, create image boards, and shape the overall vision. At this stage, we map out room layouts, built-in details, and fixture placement, while making early suggestions for finishes. By considering furniture placement and traffic flow now, we create a solid foundation and ensure the design works beautifully from the start.
Phase 2:
Sourcing & Budgeting
Once we’ve captured your vision, we’ll match it with a clear, realistic budget. We will shop together, with our time-tested vendors and your favorites, too, for all your important materials, appliances and fixtures. We’ll price all your selections, identify where to invest and where to save, and establish a plan that supports both your priorities and your financial comfort zone. With the numbers clearly outlined early, you’ll feel confident knowing there won’t be unwelcome surprises later.
Phase 3:
Purchasing & Detail Drawings
With the plans finalized, it’s time to bring them to life. We’ll handle sourcing and ordering your fixtures, cabinetry, lighting, hardware, and other selections, keeping track of deliveries and installation timelines. From countertops to interior doors, every item will be chosen and purchased with an overall design in mind, ensuring a harmonious look and a smooth process from order to arrival.
Phase 4:
Construction & Detailing
During this exciting phase, our plans come to life! We'll be on-site often, working closely with your contractors to ensure every detail reflects the design we created together. We’ll confirm window and door placement, ceiling details, built-ins, and lighting, while also considering outdoor spaces, smart home features, and audio-visual needs. Together, we’ll finalize cabinetry, tile layouts, paint colors, flooring, and moldings—coordinating each step so the result is cohesive, functional, and true to your vision.
Phase 5:
Furnishings, Art & Window Treatments.
This final phase is where your house truly becomes a home. Together, we’ll select furnishings that fit your lifestyle, customize window treatments to enhance each room, and curate artwork and accessories that make you smile every day. Family pieces and existing furnishings can be seamlessly woven in, so your space tells your unique story—layered with comfort, beauty, and meaning. Do you offer furnishing and decorating services too?
Yes! While furnishings are not always included in the initial rebuilding contract, we offer this as an additional service. We can help you design, source, and install furnishings, window treatments, art, and accessories for a turnkey, fully finished home.
Is your service area limited to California?
While much of our work is concentrated in California—especially in Ventura County and Los Angeles—we have successfully completed projects in locations like the Gulf Coast of Mexico and New England. If your project is a good fit, we’re flexible and open to travel or remote collaboration.
I’m overwhelmed—there are so many decisions to make! Can you help with everything?
Absolutely! Our mission is to simplify the process for you. From choosing tiles and lighting fixtures to cabinetry and appliances, we help you make informed decisions that align with your vision, needs, and budget. Our expertise allows you to feel confident in every choice you make.
Do you partner with contractors, or do you provide construction services?
We have several amazing general contractors and builders that we work with continuously and most highly recommend. Once selected, we can partner closely with a licensed general contractor but do not offer construction services ourselves. Our role is to be your advocate and creative director, making sure your design vision is fully realized, from concept to completion.
What can I expect from your design process? How do you work with clients?
Our process is clearly defined in phases, well mapped out for you: early design and budgeting, installation, and optional furnishings, art, and accessories. We guide you through each step, providing site visits, material selections, design plans, purchasing oversight, and comprehensive project coordination to ensure your vision is realized.
I lost my home in a fire. Can you help with the insurance-related design process?
Absolutely. Our vast experience with insurance-funded construction projects means we understand how to create clear scopes of work and collaborate effectively with builders. We strive to maximize your rebuild budget by providing accurate cost projections based on current market values, helping you navigate the often overwhelming insurance process.
When is the best time to bring a designer into my project?
As early as possible! Ideally, we will work alongside the architect as the plans are drawn. Even during the planning phase, our early involvement helps avoid costly mistakes and ensures that your design integrates beautifully with functionality from the very start.
